New Tags & Updates

Ordered some new tags for my creations.  I LOVE THEM!  They came out better than I expected, which is ALWAYS  a good thing

I’m working on a couple of new updates for the site, that should be up within this week.  Firstly, I will have pictures of the completed “The Witch” design.  Accompanying this will be a new crochet pattern on how to make her cauldron.  I really want to try out the new video camera my husband got me for my birthday so I may even go as far as making a video tutorial for the pattern (but we’ll see how that goes). 

I’ve also gotten a request for a zombie bunny.  Can’t wait to get started on that one!  The person who requested it said she wants it to hang from her mic stand…how fun!!

Progress Is Being Made!

I finally finished one of the last three requested death dolls and half of another monkey-key last night!  I was very surprised at how fast one of my monkey-key’s sold so I had to make another one in the same multicolored yarn.  Pics of both the already sold monkey-key and death doll are posted in the gallery.

On another note, I just realized that I also forgot to post the picture my husband took of me & Jennifer (the CultGrrrl Creations donation recipient).  She asked that I hold up the poster she made to inform people of the walk.  I know I’ve said it before but it was really a great feeling to make the donation and I can’t wait to walk again!!

Anyhoo, I will be posting more pictures of my progress and should have a few new designs coming soon!  I also want to get on adding another video tutorial and / or free pattern soon as well.

HOW TO – Make Magic Adjustable Ring Video

Here is my very first video tutorial ever   This tutorial is to coincide with my first written tutorial HERE.  Enjoy!

HOW TO – Make Magic Adjustable Ring

How to make a magic adjustable ring, for crocheting in the round [Please note:  You must have basic knowledge of crochet stitches to follow this tutorial]

[1] Wrap yarn around index and middle finger once, while holding place with thumb

[2] Draw up working yarn through hoop and SC

[3] Repeat around according to pattern (most patterns call for 6 SC)

[4] Pull tail snugly to close ring & bring first SC to last SC

[5] SC or SL ST (according to pattern) last SC to first SC to connect ring (place stitch marker and follow pattern)

[6] You’re done

Working On A New Tutorial

I’ve decided to implement tutorials to my blog   Hopefully this will help any blossoming amigurumi artist get started.  I’m editing pictures and even video for my first tutorial eep!  I’m so excited and hope that it will inspire someone (anyone) out there to take up crochet.

My first tute will show how to make the “magic adjustable ring” to start off your amigurumi toys and dolls.  Stay tuned!
